Class 2 Driving
Programme

With our partners, we deliver structured Class 2 driving programmes that help jobseekers gain their licences, earn NZQA credits, and build pathways into long-term careers in transport and logistics. Our programme removes financial and practical barriers, giving participants the skills, confidence, and qualifications to succeed in the driving industry.

How We Support You

At I’m In, we work alongside trusted training partners to provide fully funded Class 2 driver training for jobseekers who are ready to step into work.

Eligible participants on the I’m In Programme must:

  • Hold a full Class 1 licence
Ensures learners already have basic driving experience and can safely progress to medium rigid vehicles.

  • Have completed all pre-employment checks
We support learners through pre-employment checks to make sure they’re ready to enter the workforce with confidence.

Participants receive ongoing guidance and mentoring from the first lesson through to licence completion, so they are fully supported throughout the programme.

Theory Test Preparation and Practical Training

Passing the Class 2 theory test is a key step toward a successful driving career. Our programme combines structured learning with personalised coaching:

We provide study materials, practice tests, and one-on-one coaching. This ensures participants feel confident and fully prepared for the NZ Transport Agency Class 2 theory test

Practical Driving Training

Participants receive two full days of hands-on instruction with a certified Class 2 driving instructor. Training is tailored to individual experience and learning pace, covering vehicle handling, road positioning, and safe driving practices.

AND MANY MORE...

1.

Pre-Employment Meeting

Focuses on candidates who have already undergone pre-employment training. This means businesses are presented with potential employees who are already equipped with essential job-related skills or a development plan, saving time and money.

2.

Fast-Tracking Recruitment

By providing businesses with candidates who have completed pre-employment training, I’m In accelerates the recruitment process. This helps quickly filling vacant positions and reducing the time and effort usually required for training new recruits.

3.

Reference-checked Candidates

Participants provide two work relevant references that we use to assess their work readiness and competence for the role, boosting employer confidence on their hiring decisions.

4.

Pastoral Care Assistance

The "I'm In" programme goes beyond just recruitment by offering pastoral care assistance to new employees during their initial 90 days on the job. This support helps employees settle into their roles and reduces turnover due to early challenges or uncertainties.

5.

Post-Employment Training

The programme recognises the value of continuous learning and development. It offers support, and in some cases funding, for post-employment training within the first 90 days of employment. This ensures that employees continue to enhance their skills and contribute effectively to the business.

6.

Funding Opportunities

I’m In collaborates with businesses to identify potential funding opportunities, such as business growth grants and where you could get government assistance when hiring staff. This financial support aids in the expansion of the business, creating a positive impact on both job opportunities and overall growth.

7.

Reduced Risk

Through pre-employment training and post-employment support, the "I'm In" programme mitigates the risk of hiring individuals who might struggle to adapt to the job or the company culture. This leads to higher employee retention rates and lower turnover costs.
