I'M IN WINS IMPACT GOLD AWARD
04 July 2025
The Wellington Gold Awards lit up the Embassy Theatre this year, bringing together more than 600 of the region’s leading business owners, innovators, councillors, and government representatives to celebrate excellence across the capital.
Among the inspiring stories and standout achievements, I’m In was honoured to receive the prestigious Impact Gold Award, recognising our innovative and people-focused approach to connecting jobseekers with meaningful employment.
Winning the Impact Award was a powerful moment for our team and a reminder of why we do what we do. The category celebrates organisations that create measurable, positive change within their communities, and the judges commended I’m In for its exceptional outcomes and its ability to reshape what effective employment support can look like in Aotearoa.
Every day, we work alongside people who have faced significant barriers to employment. Through personalised coaching, practical support, and strong employer partnerships, we have helped hundreds of individuals transform their confidence, mindset, and futures.

Founded in Wellington and now operating in both the capital and Christchurch, I’m In has already supported more than 300 New Zealanders into long-term employment. Many have faced challenges such as unstable housing, mental health struggles, or limited qualifications. What they needed most was someone to believe in them and to show employers the value that does not always appear on paper.
“What’s most special is when we help businesses assess qualities they often find hard to measure, like reliability, motivation, and core skills such as literacy and numeracy. You don’t always know if someone will be reliable, but we do. That’s when transformation happens, not just for individuals, but for workplaces too.”
- Thomas Maharaj, Director and Founder of I’m In
Receiving the Impact Gold Award has strengthened our resolve to keep growing and innovating. It is both a recognition of what we have achieved and a call to continue raising the bar for meaningful, inclusive employment in New Zealand.
