Thomas's background spans from Silicon Valley startups to government training contracts, navigating the intersection of education, recruitment, and technology. Thomas began his career in recruitment as a client executive and headhunter before transitioning into the charitable sector.
By his mid-twenties, he had risen to leadership positions in several high-profile charities, scaling youth development and employability programmes nationwide.
In addition to his work in the charity sector, Thomas has made a significant impact in the business world. Backed by industry veterans like Zac De Silva and Steve Pirie, he mastered sales processes as an outsourced sales manager for the Nurture Group, delivering sold-out events in Hawaii and Fiji. During COVID, he assisted tourism businesses in building systems and processes to weather the tough times and stay afloat.
He is the brains behind Your Sales Engine and I'm In, while also currently serving as an outsourced sales director and advisor to several seven and eight-figure companies across New Zealand.
Thomas enjoys providing immediate value, implementing change rather than merely discussing it, and, as a result, supercharging the revenue of businesses as they leverage his expertise.
His true passion lies in making a difference in people's lives. He has helped hundreds of disadvantaged New Zealanders find meaning and purpose through employment, providing opportunities for jobseekers to grow personally and professionally.
Despite facing his own adversity—a diagnosed vascular brain tumor and two forms of arthritis—he is driven by a relentless passion to create large-scale impact and his work continues to transform lives and businesses across New Zealand and beyond.

Thomas Maharaj’s journey spans from Silicon Valley startups to government training contracts, working at the intersection of education, recruitment, and technology. He began his career in recruitment as a client executive and headhunter before transitioning into the charity sector.
By his mid-twenties, Thomas held leadership roles in several well-known charities, expanding youth development and employability programmes nationwide.
Alongside his charity work, Thomas has made a significant impact in business. Supported by industry leaders like Zac De Silva and Steve Pirie, he honed his sales expertise as an outsourced sales manager for the Nurture Group, successfully running events in Hawaii and Fiji. During this time, he helped over 600 New Zealand CEOs attend business retreats in Fiji and Hawaii, providing them with the space to focus on working on their businesses rather than in them, while building a world-class network.
He is the driving force behind Your Sales Engine and I’m In, and also serves as an outsourced sales director and advisor to several seven- and eight-figure companies across New Zealand.
Thomas is committed to delivering real results quickly, prioritising action over talk, and helping businesses grow their revenue and impact.
His greatest achievement and passion is making a real difference in people’s lives. Through his work in the charitable sector, he has helped hundreds of disadvantaged New Zealanders find meaningful employment and develop both personally and professionally.
Thomas has also overcome significant personal challenges, including a vascular brain tumour and two types of arthritis. Despite this, his determination to create lasting change continues to drive him, transforming lives and businesses throughout New Zealand and beyond.
